Tatum’s Drake Centers Commits to Texas Southern

There is only a couple days remaining until National Signing Day, but Tatum senior offensive lineman Drake Center did away with the suspense Monday.

Centers (6-3, 296) reported via Twitter his commitment to Texas Southern.

The Eagles standout chose Texas Southern over other Division I scholarship offers from Louisiana-Monroe, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas State, Houston Baptist, and Prairie View A&M.

Tatum finished the season 3-8 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to eventual 4A Division II state champion Pleasant Grove.

Texas Southern is an FCS school that competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Tigers, who are coached by Michael Haywood, finished 2-9 in 2017.

Centers can officially sign with Texas Southern on Wednesday.
