Tuesday Volleyball: Beckville Sweeps Sabine
BECKVILLE -- The Ladycats took care of Sabine on Friday without much of a fight.
Beckville swept the Lady Cardinals by scores of 25-6, 25-8, 25-7. Miranda Size led the team with 12 kills and five blocks, while Payton Jones had seven aces and Kinley Pepper 30 assists.
Beckville improved to 21-7 and will next face Elysian Fields on Friday in Beckville.
Carlisle downs Gladewater in sweep
CARLISLE -- The Lady Indians swept Gladewater in a home match Tuesday.
Carlisle defeated the Lady Bears by scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-14. Heather Craig led the team with 11 kills, six aces and two blocks.
It improved to 11-10 and will next face Harmony at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Big Sandy.
Chapel Hill defeats Nacogdoches
NACOGDOCHES -- Chapel Hill took care of Nacogdoches on Tuesday in a sweep.
The Lady Bulldogs won sets 25-16, 25-15 and 25-10. Kamryn Wages led the team with 14 kills and 13 digs.
Chapel Hill will be back in action at 4:30 p.m. Friday when it hosts Leveretts Chapel.
Royse City takes down Emory Rains in five sets
EMORY -- Rains took a two-set lead, but dropped the final three in a match with Royse City on Tuesday.
After winning 25-23 and 25-21, the Lady Cats fell 25-18, 25-17 and 15-10 to close the match.
Summer Nerkowski and Kaitlyn McIntyre each had eight kills apiece. McIntyre also led the team with seven blocks.
Rains fell to 4-11 and will be back in action Thursday in the Brownsboro Tournament.
Tatum hands Marshall loss
TATUM -- The Lady Eagles defeated Marshall in four sets Tuesday evening.
After losing the first set, 25-17, Tatum won the next three by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-8. Essence Allen led the way with 11 assists, eight kills and 12 digs. Ashton Brown finished with 13 kills and nine assists.
Tatum improved to 14-6 on the season with the victory.
