HUGHES SPRINGS -- The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs opened the season with a 25-14, 25-12, 23-25, 25-14 victory over Bogata Rivercrest on Tuesday.

Kensley Echols led the way for Hughes Springs with 8 kills, while Zoe Lanier added five. Peyton Blythe dished out 16 assists on the evening.

Hughes Springs continues its season Thursday and Saturday in the Paris Chisum Tournament. The Lady Mustangs open the event against Leonard at 9 a.m. Thursday.

 

Eustace Sweeps Mildred

EUSTACE -- The Eustace Lady Bulldogs rolled past Corsicana MIldred, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 on Tuesday night.

Sydnee Wynn led Eustace with 10 kills. Erica Hoops added four kills, Marshall Padgett had four kills and one ace, Michelle Gomez contributed four kills and one assist, while Reece Thorn dished out 23 assists.

Eustace participates in the Van Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

 

Winona Takes Down Center

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats earned a 25-23, 25-18, 25-13 sweep of Center on Tuesday evening.

Nichole Garrett paced Winona with 13 kills and 11 assists, while Randaysha Hanson finished with 12 assists. Janeth Tarango added 13 digs in the winning effort.

Winona continues its season Friday and Saturday in the Van Tournament.

 

Beckville Sweeps Past Central Heights

NACOGDOCHES -- The Beckville Ladycats began the new season with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-23 sweep of Nacogdoches Central Heights on Tuesday.

Natalie Morris led Beckville with 13 kills and 16 digs. Carley Lawhorn added nine kills, three blocks, and three digs, Kinley Blair had seven kills and three digs, Carson Blair contributed six kills, three aces, and 12 digs, while Kassidy Alexander finished with 36 assists, a pair of aces, and 12 digs.

Beckville competes in the Longview Tournament this weekend.

 

Forney Outlasts Emory Rains

FORNEY -- The Emory Rains Ladycats were outlasted in five games by Forney on Tuesday night, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 15-10.

Emory Rains was led in defeat by Corley Cole, who finished with 14 kills, seven blocks, and 18 assists. Ashley Gowin added 12 kills, 14 digs, and two aces, Shelbi Sheppard had 25 assists and 18 digs, while Charlotte Bradshaw chipped in with 16 kills.

The Ladycats face Wylie on Thursday before competing in the Garland ISD Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
