Cayuga athletic director Greg Jenkins has been hired by Tenaha to serve a variety of roles within the athletic department, according to Tenaha ISD superintendent Scott Tyner.

Tyner said Jenkins, who previously served as both the head football and head boys basketball coach at Cayuga, will be a varsity football assistant and junior high basketball assistant at Tenaha.

Tyner, however, added that Jenkins' "experience as an AD will be valuable to the program."

Jenkins was 21-13 in three seasons as head football coach at Cayuga, and enjoyed great success with the basketball program. Jenkins led Cayuga to the 2010 Class A Division I state championship and consecutive regional tournament appearances in 2011 and 2012.

The Cayuga basketball team finished 24-6 in 2013, falling to Mart in the area round of the playoffs.
