There were several changes for East Texas schools in this week's Associated Press high school football poll.

John Tyler (5-2) dropped out of the top 10 in Class 5A for the first time all season after its last-second, 30-27 loss at Ennis on Friday night. The Lions are still receiving votes and are just three points out of the top 10.

Longview (5-2) and Lufkin (4-3) also received votes in 5A.

Gilmer (7-0) remained at No. 3 in the 4A rankings after its 70-0 rout of Canton, while Van (7-0) held steady at No. 8 following a 37-6 rout of Crandall. Gladewater (6-1) moved up one spot to No. 9 after its 36-14 defeat of Atlanta, which dropped out of the top 10 but is still receiving votes.

In the Class 3A poll, Corrigan-Camden (7-0) held onto the No. 4 spot after the Bulldogs earned a 52-0 shutout win over Hemphill. Meanwhile, Malakoff (7-0) and Waskom (6-1) moved up one spot to No. 7 and 8, respectively. Malakoff rolled to a 49-13 defeat of Elkhart, while Waskom cruised past Winona, 57-6.

Newton (4-3) is receiving votes from pollsters in 3A.

Alto (6-0) jumped up one spot to No. 8 in the 2A poll following a 52-34 victory over Carlisle, while Shelbyville (6-0) and Tenaha (5-1) received votes.
