The undefeated and state-ranked New Boston Lions appear on their way to having a special season, and most of it's because of their special senior running back Damien Haskins.

The Memphis commit has been torching opposing defenses all season long, but he took it to an entirely new level last Friday night in his team's 38-37 win over perennial power Daingerfield that pushed New Boston's overall record to 6-0.

Haskins (5-9, 210) ran for 393 yards and five touchdowns, and is the ETSN.fm Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week.

The quick and powerful back carried the ball 37 times and scored on runs of 20, 51, 45, 51 and 41 yards -- the last of which was the game-winner with 7:15 remaining in the fourth quarter.

"Damien was really ready to play tonight," New Boston coach Rick Barker said after New Boston's victory. "I've never seen him run like that."

Haskins' performance came on the heels of his 234-yard, five-TD effort against Queen City. For the season, Haskins has rushed for an East Texas-best 1,611 yards and 24 touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per carry.

New Boston and Haskins look to continue their undefeated season this Friday at Redwater.
