In need of a win to remain in the playoff hunt out of District 9-4A Division I, Palestine turned to its dynamic junior quarterback.

And Tyler Gray delivered.

The Wildcats' signal-caller put up 575 yards of total offense in leading his team to a wild 62-47 win over Chapel Hill last Friday night.

For his efforts, Gray is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Groveton quarterback Haden Terry.

Gray competed 24 of 43 passing attempts for 464 yards and three touchdowns. And if that weren't enough, he added 111 rushing yards on 17 carries.

The win got Palestine (4-4, 2-2) even in district and in a three-way tie for third place with two games remaining.

For the season, Gray has thrown for 1,471 yards with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He's second on the team in rushing with 520 yards and six TD's.

Gray and Palestine play host to No. 1 Carthage (8-0, 4-0) this Friday night. Kickoff from Wildcat Stadium is slated for 7:30 p.m.
