National Signing Day 2013 is still about three weeks away, but it's never too early to take a look at East Texas' 2014 football recruiting class.

East Texas' 2013 football class may be a bit on the thin side, but don't expect the same for the 2014 group. The region's juniors are one of the stronger groups in recent memory, headlined by a few players who are already receiving offers and/or have committed.

Mount Pleasant's K.D. Cannon (6-0, 160) will be one of the nation's top receiver recruits, while Liberty-Eylau's Davion Hall (6-2, 185) could play either side of the ball for a major college program.

Texas A&M, which used an 11-2 season and Johnny Manziel's Heisman Trophy to catch the attention of recruits in SEC and Big 12 country, already has commitments from two 2014 East Texans: Gilmer linebacker Josh Walker (6-1, 220) and Lufkin receiver Jamal Jeffery (5-9, 170).

Whitehouse quarterback Patrick Mahomes (6-3, 200) has received two offers lately and will get more and more attention the closer his senior season gets. The same can be said for Jasper center Terrell Cuney (6-3, 260), who will attend a February junior day event at Texas.

Cuney joins Nacogdoches' Jacob Bragg (6-3, 300) and Carthage's Adrian Goodacre (6-4, 310) as key parts of what could be a strong 2014 offensive line class in East Texas.
