The road toward a state championship for East Texas Class 5A schools the past two seasons simply ran through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
There will be many more areas to keep an eye on during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years.

Spring Hill middle blocker Ann Hollas climbed the ETSN.fm East Texas Volleyball Super Team list each year, but after achieving first-team last season there was only one award more out there to target.
Hollas got it done. The Stephen F. Austin signee climbed from a second-team selection as a sophomore to first-team as a junior and closes her high school career as our 2015 Player of the Year.

MARSHALL -- The Marshall Mavericks rebounded from their first setback of the season with a dominating 54-0 shutout of Mount Pleasant on Friday night at Maverick Stadium.
BROWNSBORO -- The Lady Cats defeated Mount Pleasant in the semifinal round and took down Canton in its final game of the Brownsboro Tournament for the invitational's championship Saturday.
