Spring Hill middle blocker Ann Hollas climbed the ETSN.fm East Texas Volleyball Super Team list each year, but after achieving first-team last season there was only one award more out there to target.

Hollas got it done. The Stephen F. Austin signee climbed from a second-team selection as a sophomore to first-team as a junior and closes her high school career as our 2015 Player of the Year.

The senior played a hand in 1,316 Spring Hill points, including 850 points scored herself. That was the best number among any East Texas player nominated by their coach for the Texas Sports Writers Association's all-state team.

Hollas also saved 223 points through her team's run to the Class 4A Region II championship game on digs -- a run that ended with a loss to the eventual state champion, Argyle.

The Player of the Year might not be the only Spring Hill athlete with high recognition on the remaining list.

Huntington freshman Torie Comeaux is our Newcomer of the Year. She put up 190 points in her first varsity season and recorded 47 digs defensively on the Class 4A level.

Cherry Downs, who guided Beckville to the Class 2A Region III finals, is our Coach of the Year.
