Thursday Pool Play Scores for East Texas Teams at the Division II 7-on-7 Football State Tournament

LEANDER — Gilmer and Chapel Hill had the best performances Thursday of East Texas’ seven Division II 7-on-7 state tournament participants.

The Buckeyes and Bulldogs each went 3-0 to win their pools and advance to Friday’s championship bracket. White Oak and Canton each went 2-1 and will also play in the championship bracket.

Carthage, the favorite to win Pool N, suffered two upsets and went 1-2, sending the Dawgs to Friday’s consolation bracket, along with Crockett (1-2) and Jasper (0-3).
