TATUM -- Tatum came back from an early 14-point deficit against Rusk and remained unbeaten in District 8-4A Division II play.

Tatum scored 21 unanswered points between the third and fourth quarters for a 38-21 win at Eagle Stadium.

Sam Thomas' 99-yard kickoff return got Rusk on the board immediately, and he found the end zone later in the first quarter on the receiving end of a 16-yard touchdown pass from Jake Hugghins for a 14-0 lead.

The running back duo of LeMarcus Harmon and Cedric White got Tatum (6-2, 2-0) back into the game ahead of halftime. Harmon scored from three yards and White ripped off a 41-yard touchdown before Horacio Cadena hit a field goal at the end of the first half for a 17-14 edge.

Johnathan Long gave Rusk ( 2-6, 0-2) a second lead on a 34-yard reception from Hugghins, but Harmon and White both added second touchdowns from there and Keshoyn Alexander scored Tatum's final points of the night.

Tatum will travel to Diboll next week. Rusk hosts Huntington.
