Travon Fuller made the decision easy.

The junior athlete recorded three interceptions, recovered a fumble for a 55-yard touchdown and blocked a field goal attempt in Athens' 52-28 victory against Wills Point. He is ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week.

Fuller, a Texas A&M verbal commitment, also ran for four touchdowns in the Hornets' victory.

He succeeds Canton linebacker Brazos Hesskew for the weekly honor.

It could have been a different game without Fuller. He made a 59-point difference in the game between his four forced turnovers, the blocked kick and four offensive scores.

The win secured his squad a second seed in the Class 4A Division I playoffs. Athens will square off with Pittsburg inside Mesquite's Hanby Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the bi-district round of the state tournament.

In addition to the one official offer from Texas A&M, Fuller has the interest of Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
