GARY -- The Troup Lady Tigers went a perfect 3-0 in pool play Thursday at the Gary volleyball tournament, defeating Kilgore, Waskom and Overton.

In the 25-23, 20-25, 25-21 win over Kilgore, Troup was led by Cheney Cover's 10 kills, 13 digs and two aces. Josee Ross had six kills, seven blocks and 15 digs and Carly Dyess produced 22 assists and two aces. Bethany Mason finished with 13 digs, Paeton Nolan had four blocks and Monet Hale wound up with a pair of aces.

Troup defeated Waskom 25-12, 25-13. Cover led the way once again with eight kills, five blocks, three digs and three aces. Dyess finished with a kill, nine assists, three digs and three aces, Ross contributed four kills, nine digs and two aces and Mason had six digs and two aces.

In the Lady Tigers' 25-15, 25-20 victory over Overton, Cover had eight kills and six digs, Dyess had 12 assists, two kills and four digs, Ross came away with two kills, 16 digs and three aces, Lana Ledford chipped in with eight assists, two digs and two aces and Mason registered 10 digs.

Bullard also swept through pool play Thursday in Gary, defeating Elysian Fields, Union HIll and Gary.

In the Lady Panthers' 25-6, 25-21 win over EF, Maddy Davis had four kills and five digs, Katie Trezise added three kills and two blocks and Rachel Kelley finished with seven assists.

Bullard then defeated Union Hill 25-3, 25-5. Kelley led the way with six assists and six aces, Trezise had four kills and Mallory McCoy picked up four aces.

Then the Lady Panthers took down the tournament hosts 21-25, 25-7, 25-15. Madi Hodges had five digs, Ashley Searcy finished with eight kills, McCoy had five aces and 12 assists, Trezise had five kills and four blocks and Kelley registered three kills, eight assists and three aces.

Bullard (5-0) continues with bracket play against Tatum at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Kilgore, meanwhile, went 2-1 in pool play. After losing to Troup, the Lady Bulldogs knocked off Overton and Waskom.

In the loss to Troup, Kilgore was led by Tony Burks, who finished with eight kills, seven digs and two aces. Annie Mehringer had six kills, 10 digs and an ace, Adreyanna Barnes racked up 13 assists with four kills and two aces and Nichole Flores finished with 26 digs.

In Kilgore's 25-11, 25-19 win over Overton, Burks had seven kills, Barnes contributed 12 assists, five digs and five aces and Flores had 10 digs and four aces.

The Lady Bulldogs then took care of Waskom 25-8, 25-17. Burks led the way with six kills, four digs and six aces. Barnes added 16 assists and three aces, Mehringer had four kills and five digs and Flores finished with six digs and five aces.

Longview Wins + Beckville Drops Two in Longview Tourney

LONGVIEW -- The Longview Lady Lobos defeated Nacogdoches 25-27, 25-17, 25-14 in pool play Thursday at the Longview Tournament.

NaQwavian Nelson led the way with 19 kills. Kaitlyn Adams contributed four kills, 10 assists and six blocks, Margaret Kelly added seven blocks, Jordan Houser racked up 13 digs, Maleia Wilson finished with 12 assists and Miranda Welborn had eight digs.

Beckville, meanwhile, dropped a pair of matches Thursday in Longview -- 25-22, 18-25, 24-26 to DeKalb and 25-12, 22-25, 22-25 to Lufkin.

In the loss to DeKalb, Ivy Rieke had five kills, eight blocks, two digs and an ace. Carson Blair and Carley Lawhorn had five kills apiece, while Stacie Brevard and Kennedy Alexander combined for 13 assists.

Taylor Lindsay had nine kills and three digs in Beckville's loss to Lufkin. Blair had five kills and seven digs, and Alexander finished with 10 assists.

Beckville will play in the Silver Bracket beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
