LONGVIEW -- Elysian Fields torched Harleton in both teams' District 9-3A Division II opener, 46-0, Saturday on the big stage at Longview's Lobo Stadium.

Quarterback Logan Hughes, who played spot roles offensively last season on Waskom's state championship team, completed 20 of 26 passes for 331 yards. He threw four touchdown passes to one interception.

Dylan Parker caught eight passes for 164 yards and scored twice on passes of 21 and 33 yards for Elysian Fields (5-0, 1-0). He began Week 5 with the fourth-most passing yards in the East Texas region.

Harleton (1-4, 0-1), which was promoted to Class 3A Division II from Class 2A Division I in realignment, was held to about 60 yards of offense.

Elysian Fields will host Arp on Friday.

Harleton will simultaneously visit Beckville. One of those two teams will earn its first district win.
