MONT BELVIEU -- Spring Hill played a pair of close games Thursday, beating Pasadena Sam Rayburn 60-58 before losing 52-44 to Houston C.E. King at the Gulf Coast Classic.

Clay Lattier scored a team-high 19 points against Sam Rayburn, while Ben Brundrett added 17 points. Matt Williams had five points, seven rebounds, and five assists for the Panthers (12-6), who are ranked 23rd in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 3A poll.

Spring Hill's Kendon Womack added seven points and three steals. Adam Lattier had four points and seven rebounds.

C.E. King beat Spring Hill despite three Panthers scoring in double figures.

Adam Lattier had 12 points and four assists, while Clay Lattier scored 12 points. Ben Brundrett netted 10 points. Matt Williams had two points, six rebounds, and five assists.

The Gulf Coast Classic is hosted by Barbers Hill High School.

Big Sandy Keeps Rolling With 52-42 Win at Hawkins

HAWKINS -- Joshua Jackson's 20 points and six rebounds led Big Sandy to a 52-42 win at Hawkins in the Hawkins Classic on Thursday.

Isaiah Johnson added 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists for the Wildcats (13-2), while Matt Easley had 11 points and eight boards. Jackson, Johnson, and Easley hit two three-pointers apiece.

Girls

Ivy Rieke + Beckville Top Arp, 41-35

OVERTON -- Ivy Rieke scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and collected five steals to lead Beckville to a 41-35 win over Arp in Thursday's game at the Overton tournament.

Beckville's Summer Dennis had 10 points and four stelas, while Maya Bradford added eight points and three steals.

Lauren Littlefield led Arp with 11 points. Teammates Tionna Whitaker and Kaci Kuykendall scored six apiece.

Beckville (9-8) plays New Summerfield at 9 a.m. Friday at the Overton tournament.
