Girls Basketball Games to Watch: Pittsburg’s Rematch With L-E, Figuring Out 16-3A + More

The girls basketball regular season comes to an end Tuesday night, but there’s still plenty to figure out before the playoffs begin next week.
The District 13-3A championship is at stake when No. 13 Pittsburg (27-4, 9-0) travels to Texarkana to face 16th-ranked Liberty-Eylau (23-4, 8-1).
The Lady Pirates won the first meeting, 56-46, back on Jan. 18. Cheyenne Ramey led the way by finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists — one shy of a triple-double. Baylor signee Imani Wright and Sharde Collins combined for 33 points for Liberty-Eylau, but went a cumulative 10-of-46 from the field.
There’s one playoff spot unaccounted for in District 15-3A, and it comes down to Brownsboro (16-12, 4-5) and Canton (14-16, 4-5).
Canton is in with a win over Van (2-7 in district) or a Brownsboro loss to Athens (8-21, 1-8). The Bearettes must win and Canton has to lose in order for Brownsboro to reach the playoffs.
In 16-3A, four teams will be vying for two playoff spots Tuesday night. There is currently a three-way tie for second place between Gilmer (19-11, 7-4), Spring Hill (15-16, 7-4) and Kilgore (7-4 in district, and Chapel Hill (18-11, 6-5) is just one game behind.
And all four teams play each other. Gilmer is at Spring Hill, while Chapel Hill plays at Kilgore.
