WHITE OAK -- The Lindale Lady Eagles fell to Jewett Leon in the championship match of the Shirley Atkins Invitational on Saturday, 25-19, 25-22.

Zhanelle Geathers led Lindale (20-3) in defeat with 12 kills and three digs. Rhyan Rand added six kills and four digs, Kaitlin Rice had five kills and six digs and Sydney Tiiman dished out 25 assists and added three digs.

Earlier in the day, Lindale defeated Quitman 25-18, 25-19 and Spring Hill 25-22, 15-25, 25-22.

In the win over Quitman, Makenna Allen led the way with seven kills and five digs. Rice added six kills and four digs, Rand had five kills, four digs and four aces and Tiiman registered 23 assists to go with three digs.

Rand led Lindale against Spring Hill with 13 kills, two blocks and five digs. Geathers had 10 kills and three digs, Tiiman added 32 assists, seven kills and 16 digs, Rice had seven kills and eight digs and Allen chipped in with six kills and 12 digs.

Rand, Allen and Tiiman were all-tournament selections for Lindale, which continues its season Tuesday at home with a dual match against Kaufman and Crandall.

In other action from White Oak, Spring Hill took home third place with a 25-15, 25-15 sweep of White Oak. Brock outlasted Tyler Lee 23-25, 27-25, 25-23 to claim the consolation title.

Hallsville defeated Gilmer 19-25, 25-20, 25-15 to win the Challenger bracket of the Shirley Atkins Invitational. New Diana took third place with a 25-21, 22-25, 25-15 victory over Troup. Paris North Lamar took down Pleasant Grove for the consolation title, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21.

BROWNSBORO TOURNAMENT

Van Captures Brownsboro Tournament Title

BROWNSBORO -- The Van Lady Vandals claimed the Brownsboro Tournament championship with a victory over Emory Rains in the finals on Saturday.

Van (21-4), which hosts Hallsville on Tuesday, defeated Arlington Bowie and Emory Rains earlier in the day.

Tyler All Saints finished third in the Brownsboro Tournament by defeating Bullard, 25-18, 25-17. Lanna Johnson led the Lady Trojans (15-7) with 14 kills, while Maddie Smith added 22 assists and six digs and Frances Hackney had three aces. Bullard (16-7) was led by Mackenzie Fish's five kills and nine digs. Ashley Searcy added two blocks and two aces and Mallory McCoy dished out seven assists.

All Saints defeated Canton earlier Saturday, 25-16, 25-14. Johnson had eight kills and four aces, Smith had 17 assists and Foster Hackney added seven digs. The Lady Trojans then lost to Emory Rains, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20. Johnson had 17 kills, Smith provided 27 assists, Foster Hackney had 12 digs and Elizabeth Enloe finished with four aces.

The Lady Trojans' season resumes Tuesday at home against Dallas Christian in the TAPPS District 2-4A opener.

Bullard defeated Brownsboro 25-19, 25-15 to begin its day. Katie Cole had six digs, Fish had eight kills and seven digs, Searcy finished with five kills and two aces, while Kennedy Key and Rachel Kelley combined for 11 aces. The Lady Panthers then lost to Van, 25-16, 25-22. Maddy Davis had five digs and two aces, Fish provided six kills, nine digs and three aces, Searcy contributed seven kills and two blocks, Kelley and McCoy combined for 15 assists and Cole finished with 10 digs.

Bullard's season resumes Tuesday at home against Texas High.

Gary lost twice on Saturday -- falling to Emory Rains, 25-16, 25-12 and Canton, 25-22, 25-21. Gary (12-8) was led on the afternoon by Collyn Pinkerton's 10 kills, four blocks, five digs and five aces.

Ryley Beckham had eight kills and 18 digs, Bailey Reistad had six kills and 13 digs, Melody McCroskey finished with three kills, 15 digs and an ace, Sydney Ritter had three kills, Josey Greer added three kills, 30 assists, 10 digs, one block and two aces and Railey Daniels finished with 29 digs and an assist.

Gary continues its season at home Tuesday against Jacksonville.

Sabine Captures Own Tournament

LIBERTY CITY -- Sabine went 3-0 Saturday to claim its tournament championship.

The Lady Cardinals (18-6) defeated Union Grove 25-20, 25-6, West Rusk 25-22, 25-4 and Overton 25-21, 25-19.

Sabine was led on the day by Haley Stuart's 29 kills, one block, eight digs and five aces. Tylia Sylestine added 12 kills, 28 digs, one assists and two aces, Shelby Burns had nine kills, one block, five digs and an ace, Skylar Richter had seven kills, six digs and five assists, Emily Ivins and Jayden Mount combined on 51 assists and 18 digs, while the duo of Logan Davis and Kennedee Taylor teamed for 55 digs.

Sabine defeated Jacksonville, Longview Trinity and Leverett's Chapel on Thursday in pool play.

The Lady Cardinals continue their season Friday when they host West Rusk in the District 18-2A opener.
