Palestine entered last Friday's game in need of a win in the worst way, having dropped three consecutive games, including its first two district games.

The Wildcats were fortunate enough to have senior running back Irric Deyon on their side, as he carried them to victory.

Deyon rushed for 309 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries leading Palestine to a 38-13 win over Bullard, and for his efforts, he is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week.

He follows last week's winner, Malakoff's Judd Miller.

Palestine (4-3, 1-2 in District 9-4A Division I) kept feeding the ball to Deyon, and it all added up to a much-needed victory.

For the season, Deyon has rushed for 815 yards and seven touchdowns, while averaging more than six yards per carry.

Deyon and his Palestine teammates are of this week, but return to action Oct. 21 at home against Chapel Hill.
