Sometimes, the best players rise to the occasion in the biggest of games. And that was certainly the case last Friday night.

Garrison junior running back Sabastion Porter put on a show in the Bulldogs' 43-13 win over Alto in their area-round playoff game, rushing 27 times for 420 yards and six touchdowns.

For his efforts, Porter (5-10, 190) is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Gilmer running back Bran Webb.

Porter has been among the most productive running backs in all of East Texas this season. He enters this week with 2,245 yards and 38 touchdowns on 270 carries.

Porter and his Garrison (10-2) teammates face San Augustine (10-2) at 7 p.m. Friday from Dragon Stadium in Nacogdoches in a Class 2A Division I, Region III semifinal.
