Softball Poll: Hallsville Jumps Into Class 4A Rankings

Hallsville jumped into this week's Class 4A rankings in the Texas Girls Coaches Association's softball polls to give East Texas 16 ranked teams.

The Ladycats were 17th in the new poll, which the TGCA released Wednesday.

Class 3A remained the strongest classification for East Texas, garnering seven spots. No. 4 Rusk and No. 5 Henderson led the contingent, followed by No. 7 Gladewater, No. 10 Lufkin Hudson, No. 16 Mineola, No. 19 Gilmer, and No. 22 Jasper.

In Class 2A, Troup slipped one spot from last week's rankings at No. 8. Central Heights stayed put at 15th, while Sabine moved up two spots to 20th and Winnsboro jumped into the poll at 21st. Tatum, which was ranked 20th, fell out of the top 25.

Alto and Harleton kept the third and fourth spots, respectively, in Class A. No. 10 Beckville and No. 15 Saltillo each ascended two spots.
