At this point, opposing defenses can't stop Sulphur Springs junior quarterback Larry Pryor. They can only hope to contain him.

Denison's defense failed to do either in Sulphur Springs' 66-42 bi-district playoff victory last Friday night, as Pryor's monster performance earned him ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Pryor accounted for 308 yards and eight touchdowns in leading the Wildcats past the first round. He completed 9 of 12 passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns, and ran 14 times for 97 yards and another four scores.

For the season, the Sulphur Springs QB has passed for 2,562 yards with 26 touchdowns and only six interception and run for 925 yards and 15 scores.

Over his last four games -- all Sulphur Springs wins --- the numbers are even more impressive. Pryor has averaged 297 yards passing and 104 rushing with a combined 25 touchdowns over his last four games, in which Sulphur Springs is averaging 58.5 points.

Pryor (6-1, 185) is one of East Texas' top recruits in the 2015 class, mostly as a safety. He currently holds eight offers from FBS programs -- Arkansas, Baylor, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech.

Sulphur Springs (8-3) faces Whitehouse (11-0) in a Class 4A Division II Region II area-round playoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday from Forney's City Bank Stadium. It is a rematch of Whitehouse's 61-22 victory at Sulphur Springs on Sept. 13.
