The Pleasant Grove defense was stingy Thursday, and a lot of that had to do with defensive lineman Marcus Burris.

Burris finished with six tackles, four for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble as the Hawks rolled to a 56-12 victory against Dallas Roosevelt in 4A Division II bi-district action.

He is the Week 12 ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week, following Jefferson's Tyler Cherry.

Burris now has 32 tackles, 8 for loss, five sacks and three forced fumble on the season. Pleasant Grove improved to 9-2 with the victory and will face Waco Connally (8-3) at 1 p.m. Friday in Royse City ISD Stadium.
