The 2016 season may not be going according to script for Tyler Grace senior quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi, but the senior signal-caller is certainly making the most of it.

Sidelined for the first five games of the season to injury, Wilehlmi has been making up for lost time ever since his return, and last Friday, he turned in perhaps his best performance of the season.

Wilhelmi was near-perfect through the air, completing 23 of 26 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 48 yards and a couple of touchdowns rushing in Grace's 56-20 win over rival Bullard Brook Hill in their regular-season finale.

For his efforts, Wilhelmi is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Groveton quarterback Glenn Thornton.

The win helped Grace (7-3, 5-1) clinch homefield advantage in the first round of the TAPPS Division II playoffs. Grace hosts Fort Worth Christian at 7 p.m. Friday from Clyde-Perkins Stadium.

Despite missing half the regular season, Wilhelmi has put together impressive numbers. For the year, he has completed 68 of 82 passes (83 percent) for 1,094 yards with 12 touchdowns and one interception in five games.

Since Wilhelmi's return, Grace is 5-0 and has averaged 53 points per game.
