  • committed to Air Force; additional offers from Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, SFA, ULL, ULM; interest from TCU (per Henderson coach Dickey Meeks)

Henderson coach Dickey Meeks has high hopes for Nick Siler, who should be his best lineman in 2012.

The physical progress Siler has made in less than two years is staggering. Meeks said the day of Henderson’s Class 3A Division I state title win against Chapel Hill in Dec. 2010, Siler weighed 184 pounds. Since then, he’s gained 71 pounds and “is still growing,” Meeks added.

Breaking in a new quarterback won’t be as bad since Siler and a solid Lion offensive line will be there blocking for him. Siler’s 6-4 frame will help him put on more bulk, which will help him gain even more recruiting attention, although Siler appears to be pleased with the Division I athletics and highly regarded academics at Air Force. Siler has four Division I FBS offers and could see another from TCU, which Meeks said has shown Siler a lot of attention lately.
