A full season without any health issues would be the best thing for Tyler Lee’s LaQuintas Wallace, who has been a hard-to-peg recruiting target for a couple of years.

Wallace has the size and speed to be a great college running back, but he’s had a hard time staying healthy. If he can do that finally, his senior season should help vault him into the eyes of recruiters across the region and, possibly, the country.

Tyler Lee coach Darrell Piske believes major programs will soon take notice of Wallace once the season starts. Wallace grabbed the attention of the Oklahoma staff at a June camp in Tyler, according to OUInsider.com, while 247Sports.com said in late July that Wallace could be a darkhorse candidate for a late Texas offer.

One thing is certain: Wallace can play. Whether he stays healthy will go a long way in determining if this potential high-major signee fulfills the expectations many placed on him in 2009, when he rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman. Wallace could climb into the top five of the ETSN 25 if he has a big season and offers start rolling in.

The ETSN 25 countdown so far ...
